Glacial fjords, Atlantic and Arctic waters and life at Greenland’s coastal margins

Thriving, biodiverse marine ecosystems in Greenland’s glacial fjords are supported by the confluence of Arctic and Atlantic waters, sea ice, icebergs, and meltwater from the ice sheet. Understanding their evolution in a warming climate must take into account both the large-scale climate and the regional-scale web of physical, biological, and chemical interactions.
