Open and Closed Sessions- HYBRID
Room: Mødelokale 2
Organiser: Julia Schmale (EPFL, Switzerland), Letizia Tedesco (Syke, Finland)
Session Description:
Climate intervention – also called geoengineering – is increasingly being discussed as one potential approach to reduce the effects of human-induced climate warming from greenhouse gas emissions. With its amplified warming and multiple potential climate tipping elements, the Arctic has become a key region of concern for potential impacts of climate intervention. There is an urgent need to provide guidelines for responsible research and to gather relevant information for an inclusive dialogue with stake- and rightsholders. This Action Group meeting will be the first in person gathering. The first 2 hours are open to the IASC community to provide input. The last 2 hours are a closed meeting for the Action Group to define the course of action.
