The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) was initiated by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) in 1999 to provide opportunities for coordination, cooperation and collaboration between the various scientific organisations involved in Arctic research and to economise on travel and time. ASSW is now an annual venue for meetings of Arctic organisations, scientific collaborations, and more.
The ASSW 2027 will be organised from 11 - 20 April 2027 in Hakodate, Japan. There will be five main days dedicated to the ASSW 2027 Community Meetings and Workshops (11 - 15 April), but if necessary, workshops can also take place parallel to the 9th International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-9) (16 - 20 April).
The entire Arctic community is encouraged to use ASSW 2027 as a venue for bringing together their organisations, collaborations, and teams. ASSW 2027 organisers provide the logistical support and your meeting attendees only have to register for ASSW 2027 and show up. ASSW 2027 will be organised as a hybrid conference, offering opportunities for on-site only, hybrid, and online meeting formats.
Please fill out the form below to request an on-site only, hybrid, or online space and we will do our best to accommodate your request. The application deadline is 16 October 2026, and a first draft program is expected to be ready by December 2026. For more, please see https://www.assw.info/
