30 March 2026 | 16:00 - 18:00 CEST

Open Session - HYBRID

Room: Mødelokale 2.3

Organiser: Jenna Vater (Navigating the New Arctic Community Office, United States of America)

Session Description:

The U.S. National Science Foundation’s Navigating the New Arctic (NNA) initiative aims to improve understanding of Arctic change and to advance actionable and societally relevant information through research that draws on information and expertise from across disciplines and knowledge systems, including Indigenous Knowledge, to solve complex challenges.

This meeting will focus on highlighting international research partnerships in the context of mobilising data and knowledge for societal benefit. NNA projects will showcase their work, and discuss how they are approaching international collaboration in the Arctic, working across knowledge systems and disciplines, building partnerships with Indigenous Peoples, and/or advancing ethical and equitable data management practices. Other international initiatives working on these topics are invited to participate and share to promote learning across programs. This community meeting will also coincide with the Arctic Observing Summit (AOS), which is a large part of this year's ASSW. Therefore, we're additionally inviting perspectives on how NNA research is contributing to Arctic observing systems.

The meeting will be organised and facilitated by the NNA Community Office (NNA-CO), whose mission it is to build awareness, partnerships, opportunities, and resources to support equitable research collaborations within NNA and beyond.
